Wildfire near Sonora slows

Firefighters gained 95 percent containment by 6:30 p.m. Sunday on a wildfire southeast of Sonora that started just before 1 p.m. and reached about 150 acres, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported.

Location, land deal for new Stanislaus County Courthouse decided in secret

Police seek 18 more in Modesto marijuana crackdown
